Event renewed for the second consecutive year in DNL Maths / English of the European section.
Last year, Pi day celebration was a success in Bascan ! |
Pi day 2017 in Bascan → back to last year
Former 1S1 and 1S2 students did prepare amazing Pi pies and we had a really great time.
They’re in TS now and their mates from actual 1S1/1S2 group will be the Pi celebration guests on 03.14.2018.
For the occasion I will wear my favorite T-shirt (see attached) and a gift will be provided for the best « Pi goodie » student (1S1 and 1S2, save the date… ).
Good to know : mid March week is the Maths week . Don’t miss it in Bascan with various events !
About Pi day |
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. |
Pi (Greek letter « π ») is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159.
Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point.
As an irrational and transcendental number, it will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern.
While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize, and to computationally calculate more and more digits.
